20's: A beautiful, plump, moment in skin structure + elasticity. It's one of my favorite ages to treat, as I can feel all that healthy, juicy skin under my hands, also the perfect time to teach and harness the power of prevention.
Daily broad spectrum mineral sunscreen is paramount for preservation at this stage- don't forget to apply to your neck and chest!
A simple, yet targeted at home skin regime, having regenerative facial treatments 3 times per year, and first time- once a year microneedling, to support the 1% loss in collagen- in it's first phase, is highly recommended.
30's: As long as you haven't been a sun-worshipper or done Co2 lasers, your collagen structure should still be plump and bouncy. This is, though, the decade collagen fibroblasts will begin to decline. Continued daily mineral, moisturizing, broad spectrum spf, adding in a daily topical antioxidant + a bio-retinol, having regenerative facial treatments every 3 months is vital for continued muscle firmness + skin structure preservation. Twice yearly microneedling is a great preservative goal. I adamantly reject Co2 lasers in your 30's, these are the last years your collagen fibroblasts are vital. The Co2 laser can completely deplete and destroy your remaining vital collagen matrix + adipose tissue (fat pads). There is simply NO NEED for this kind of assault to the skin. Microneedling is all you need for healthy skin regeneration.
40's: A larger bench mark for cutaneous change in women. Estrogen hormones fluctuate greatly, perimenopause may be transitioning, leading to declining fibroblast activity. Skin begins to thin, UV damage + fine lines starts to appear. If you have't begun an individual targeted home care skin regime, NOW is the time!
A daily topical antioxidant + bio- retinol is essential, at home LED masks + Micro-current devices are very supportive. It is also extremely beneficial to be having monthly regenerative facial treatments with radio frequency skin tightening, professional micro-current muscle toning, ultrasound with professional grade photon LED which heats the dermis + subcutaneous layers of the skin, stimulating + tighten tissue + activating mitochondrial functions. Microneedling 4 times per year- every 3 months, and a peel one time per year, is my recommendation.
50's: Beautiful senescent skin - our biological aging- is presenting, we are now delved into 20-30% loss of collagen per year, which is a big jump. If you have begun a regenerative protocol in your 30's + 40's you are well prepared for this decade and have preserved a lot of your structure, making it easier to continue regeneration. If you are just beginning- it's okay! Begin! Your results will be gracefully subtle + softening.
Having a deliberate, targeting home care regime with topical peptides, cytokines, vitamins + retinols are fundamental. Broad spectrum daily spf is still (always) necessary. Home care LED, PEMF mats, at home micro-current, facial stamping are continued. Monthly regenerative facials, even weekly professional regenerative RF, currents + professional grade LED are deeply beneficial. Plated / PDRN Microneedling monthly or bi-monthly is HUGE- this plays a great role in matrix structure + elasticity, with a serious glow. A peel 2/ 3 times a year is very beneficial for tone, texture, pore size + brightening. Beginning HRT, if a candidate, is a game changer.
60's: The new 50's. From here on out ..If you've been following the above protocols,
skins vitality, glow, ease and acceptance are grounded. This is when we can truly enjoy all the treatments. I am even good with adding a Co2 fractional laser in this decade, as our adipose tissue structures have faded and we can no longer damage them. You can enjoy the fruits of your blessings, while engaging in all the regenerative treatments. Still very important to continue your daily SPF and all the magnificently, ethically produced peptides, retinol and cytokine hydrators. I love microneedling with a deep peel in this decade for smoothing, brightness + tightening.
